The Montgomery Advertiser
Mr. Micajah Davis, an old man living about eight miles north of Wedowee, was 
found dead in the woods, about 35 yards from the road, one day last week. It is 
not known what caused his death, but it thought he froze. So says the Wedowee 
Journal.

Additional Comments:
Micajah Davis is listed on the 1870 Randolph County census with his wife 
Elizabeth. They are found in the 1850/1860 Bibb County, GA census. 
They are possibly the parents of J.F.M. Davis buried at Leven's Chapel Randolph 
County. 
J.F.M. Davis married Nancy M. Wilder in Bibb County, GA in 1848. The family 
moved to Randolph County after 1860.
