He lived a few hours after being hit. He was delivering meat in a closed truck and fail to see the approaching train. His head was crushed, and one arm mangled. The companion riding with him escaped unhurt. He had moved from Clay County to Anniston about three weeks ago and was brought back to his old home community for burial Sunday. More than a thousand friends and relatives gathered at Christiana to pay their last tribute of respect to their former neighbor and brother The Woodmen took part in the ceremony. Rev. 0. Parker and Rev. B. W. Mathews conducted funeral services. A number of his friends from Anniston were present namely, D. K. Miller, M. C. Kiker, Sonny Burnes, Forney Thrasher. He leaves a wife and four children, a father, four brothers and three sisters to mourn his lost. Ellis was loved by all who knew him. He was good natured and honest in all things. He will be greatly missed by a host of friends and relatives.
