NEIGHBORHOOD News

A storm passed through Randolph county, Alabama on the night of the 18th 
ultimo, at High Shoals, eight miles northeast of Roanoke, and blew down the 
house of Mr. Jack Embrey, killed him, his wife and two children, being the 
entire family. Nothing was known of the horrible affair until the next morning 
when a neighbor, looking in that direction observed that the house was gone, 
and on going over to where Embrey lived, was horrified at the sight that met 
his gaze. Upon one bed, just as they had retired, lay the four dead bodies, 
having met instant death by the falling of the chimney upon them.
