Anniston Star
Geraldine Putnam Farr, 29, of 4828 S. Paulina St., Chicago, Ill., died Tuesday 
at 8:15 p.m., at a Chicago hospital after a long illness. Funeral services will 
be held Saturday at 2 p.m., at Valley Grove Baptist Church, in Randolph County 
with the Revs Douglas Ford and Dorsey White officiating. Burial will be in the 
church cemetery with Gray Brown - Service Mortuary in charge. She is survived by 
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Putnam, Sr., of Chicago; three sisters, Mrs. 
Aubrey Cox of Chicago, Mrs. Robert Hunt of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. Arvel Shepherd 
of Wedowee; six brothers, Lewis, William, Charles, Robert, Johnny and Ricky; all 
of Chicago. Pallbearers will be Roy Shepherd, Heaton Shepherd, Ralph Shepherd, 
Herbert Connor, Snoot Dixon and J. T. Prater. Mrs. Farr had resided in Chicago 
the past year. She was a former resident of Anniston. The body will lie in state 
at the homes of Mrs. Arvel Shepherd at Wedowee until time of services.
