Anniston Star
A 17-year-old service station employee, delivering gasoline to a friend whose 
auto had stalled, Thursday afternoon became Randolph County's ninth traffic 
fatality. Gary Allen Fields, son of Mrs. Marvalene Fields of Wedowee, Route 2, 
was dead on arrival at Wedowee Hospital following the 5:40 p.m. traffic accident 
on County Highway 67, ap proximately 3.1 miles east of Wedowee, according to 
State Troopers. Troopers said Fields was standing in the roadway beside a parked 
car with no headlights burning when another auto, driven by Eddithe Paul Daniel 
of Woodland, approached the vehicle.
