Gary Allen Fields, son of Mrs. Marvolene Fields of Wedowee, Route 2, was dead on 
arrival at Wedowee Hospital following the 5:40 p.m. traffic accident on County 
Highway 67, ap proximately 3.1 miles east of Wedowee, according to State 
Troopers. Troopers said Fields was standing in the roadway beside a parked car 
with no headlights burning when another auto, driven by Eddithe Paul Daniel of 
Woodland, approached the vehicle. The report said that Daniel, apparently 
blinded by the headlights of Fields parked auto, struck the boy. A relative of 
the youth said a friend had called him at the service station, located near 
Wedowee, and had told him he had run out of gas. Funeral arrangements are 
incomplete. The body is at the home of an aunt, Mrs. Herman Landers of Wedowee. 
Quattlebaum's Brown-Service Funeral Home, Roanoke, is in charge. Survivors, 
besides his mother include a sister, Miss Sandra Fields of Wedowee; two 
brothers, Timothy and Michael Fields, both of Wedowee; maternal grandparents, 
Mr. and Mrs. A. Z. Stewart of Wedowee, Route 2; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Carra 
Sheets of Newell.

Additional Comments:
He is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery, Randolph County, AL.
