She leaves eight children, the youngest of whom is only four years of age. She had been in declining health for more than a year, but her death was not expected so soon, until she was suddenly taken worse on Sunday and died within 24 hours. Mrs. Ford was the oldest daughter of the late A. J. Kent, former sheriff of Randolph County. Besides the husband and children surviving her are three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning, conducted by Rev. S. U. Lemmond, and interment was in the Masonic cemetery.
