OBITUARIES:

MRS. LAVICE MARSHALL FOSTER

   Mrs. LaVice Marshall Foster, age 93, of 466 Cannon St., Roanoke, died 
Saturday, Jan. 23, 1982, in the Randolph County Hospital, Roanoke.
   Mrs. Foster is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Viola F. Benefield of Roanoke; 
one grandson; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lois Strickland of 
Huguley; three brothers, John Marshall of Chevy Chase, Washington D. C., 
William [should be Walter] Marshall of Gulf Port, Miss., and C. G. Marshall of 
Roanoke.
   Funeral services for Mrs. Foster were conducted Sunday afternoon at two 
o'clock from the First Baptist Church of Roanoke, the Rev. Don Paulson and the 
Rev. Larry Armstrong officiating, with burial in the Pleasant Grove Baptist 
Church Cemetery in the Broughton community.
   Pallbearers were Walter L. Fetner, Bobby Marshall, G. C. Landers, Gilbert 
Marshall, John Hodges, and John H. Street.
   Quattlebaum's Brown-Service Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

[Cora LaVicie, born Oct 24, 1888, is the daughter of John Costello Marshall, 
Jr. and Ada Sophronia Mobley.  She was preceded in death by her husband, 
Charles Wesley Foster, in 1959.]
