Thursday Funeral services for William Monroe Freeman, well-known resident of 
Randolph County who died Saturday, will be held Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock 
at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church at Newell. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Helen 
Freeman; eight daughters. Miss Lela Freeman of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Gertrude 
Carstarphen of Gordo, Mrs. Gladys King, Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Essie Tarry. 
Washington, D. C, Mrs. Evelyn Jirrels of Anniston, Mrs. Bertha Heard of Graham, 
Miss Lillie Freeman and Mrs. Elizabeth Angel, both of Newell; eight sons, Lt. 
Raleigh Freeman of Fort Riley, Kan., William Freeman, Detroit, Mich., Ernest 
Freeman, Cincinnati, Ohio, Leroy Freeman, Northport, Tom Freeman of Eastaboga 
Albert, Roland and Grady Freeman, all of Newell; three sisters of Carrollton, 
Ga., and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Freeman was member 
of Bethena Methodist Church at Graham and served there as steward until his 
health began to fail.
