J.C. Stripling and the Rev. Grady Jackson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge. Mrs. Garner died Monday at Newnan Hospital in Newnan, Ga., after a short illness. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Lucille Graham of Newnan, Ga., Mrs. Mary Yates of Woodland, Mrs. Carolyn McDowell of Gardendale and Mrs. Shirley Faye Diggers of Hartville, Ohio; five sons, Charlie Ray Garner of Alvaton, Ga., John Carl Garner of Huntsville, Hermit C. Garner of Springville, Arnold L. Garner of Hanceville and Bruce W. Garner of Birmingham; a brother L.N. Sikes of Wedowee; 32 grandchildren, 48 great- grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers wee Meek Huey, Charlie Sikes, Paton Woodham, Frank Sikes, Brewer Sikes and Floyd French. Mrs. Garner was a native of Randolph County and had lived in Gardendale for the past 12 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Noonday Congregational Christian Church.
