Roanoke Leader
James H. Gay, 27, of Wehadkee, Rt. 1, veteran of World War II, died at the 
Veterans Hospital, Montgomery, on August 11. He is survived by his parents, Mr. 
and Mrs. J. E. Gay; three sisters; Mrs. Obie Stephens, of Phenix City, Mrs. J. W. 
Craft, of Phenix City, and Mrs. L. B. Richardson, of LaGrange; two brothers, Theo 
and Handley, both of Wehadkee. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 
3:30 at Big Springs Church, with Rev. Guy Bassett officiating. Interment was in 
the churchyard cemetery with Quattlebaum's Funeral Home in charge.
