Roanoke Leader
Mrs. Ellen Josephine Gladney, 68, died at her home, Rt. 2, Roanoke, at 11:20 
Tuesday morning, Sept. 21. Funeral services were held at Lebanon at 3:00 o'clock 
Wednesday afternoon, with Rev. Belt White officiating. Interment was in the 
church cemetery, Quattlebaum's Funeral Home in charge. Survivors are: her 
husband, W. A. Gladney; one son, A. D. Gladney, of Wehadkee; two daughters: Mrs. 
Myrtis Iola Barrett, of Rt. 2, Roanoke, and Mrs. Myrtle Viola Ussery, of Rt. 4, 
Roanoke; ten grandchildren; two brothers: Oliver Johnson, of Columbus, Ga., and 
Sidney Johnson, of Danville, Va.; five sisters: Mrs. Janie Kirby, of Rt. 2, 
Roanoke, Mrs. Sally Green, of Anniston, Mrs. Otis Parker, of Fort Pierce, Fla., 
Mrs. Albert Smith, of Columbus, Ga., and Mrs. R. N. Strange, and Mrs. R. N. 
Strange, of Danville, Va.
