He was a native of Randolph County. Surviving are one son, Adolphus Gladney of Roanoke Rt. 3: two daughters. Mrs. Myrtis Barrett of Roanoke Rt. 2 and Mrs. Myrtle Ussery of Roanoke Rt. 4; 10 grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren; one brother. Arthur Gladney of Carrollton, Ga.; and four sisters: Mrs. Effie Adcock of Lakeland, Fla., Mrs. Cora Young of Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. Philip Appleby of Maryville, Tenn., and Mrs. C. C. Reed of Loudon, Tenn. At two o'clock Saturday afternoon from the Lebanon Christian Church, with the Revs Joe L. Pike and Belt White conducted the funeral service. Interment followed in the church cemetery.; Quattlebaum's Funeral Home was in charge. Rev. Joe L. Pike and Rev. Belt White conducted funeral services for Mr. Gladney. Pallbearers were Douglas and Virgil Gladney, Benny Barrett, Dallis Hollis, Junior, Sidney, and Eugene Ussery, and Edward Lewis.
