 Miss Mattie R. Goodwin, age 76, of Stroud, passed away at the home of her 
nephew, W. G. Good. win, Friday, May 11, following an illness of several months. 
She had been seriously ill for the past week. Funeral services were hied from Mt. 
Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church on Sunday, May 13, at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. 
Austin Sta pies officiating. Interment was in Mt. Pisgah cemetery with Johnson 
&Sanders Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. A native of Randolph County and 
a member of Roanoke First Baptist Church, the deceased is survived by one 
brother, John H. Goodwin, LaGrange, Ga., and a number of nieces and nephews.
