Roanoke Leader
Mrs. Mary Green was called from this life on New Year's day after being ill for 
several months at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Daniel. She had for many 
years been a member of the Baptist church at Zion. The deceased was more than 
eighty years old. Her husband preceded her in death about 30 years ago. She 
leaves a son and two daughters, a number of grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, 
a host of relatives and friends. Her remains were carried to Providence, where 
Rev. Joe King, her pastor for a number of years, conducted the last rites. Mr. 
King was assisted by Rev. Herman Caldwell, pastor at Providence.
