Mr. Greene served as a police officer in Roanoke for a number of years before joining the Auburn Police Department. He had served in law enforcement for 37 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Alabama Sheriffs and Police Officers Association and the Twin Cities Fraternal Order of Police. Survivors include two sons, Ray and Fred Greene of Opelika; one daughter, Katherine Awbrey of Franklin, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs, Beulah Carr of Montgomery and Mrs. Lucibelle Arnold of Columbus, Ga.; and five grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Mr. Greene were conducted in Garden Hills Cemetery, Opelika, at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning, Dec. 8.
