OBITUARIES:

Tom Greene

   (OPELIKA) Tom Greene of Opelika, a former resident of Roanoke, died Monday, 
Dec. 6, 1982, in East Alabama Medical Center at the age of 91.
   Mr. Greene served as a police officer in Roanoke for a number of years 
before joining the Auburn Police Department.  He had served in law enforcement 
for 37 years prior to his retirement.  He was a member of the Alabama Sheriffs 
and Police Officers Association and the Twin Cities Fraternal Order of Police.
   Survivors include two sons, Ray and Fred Greene of Opelika; one daughter, 
Katherine Awbrey of Franklin, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs, Beulah Carr of Montgomery 
and Mrs. Lucibelle Arnold of Columbus, Ga.; and five grandchildren and a number 
of nieces and nephews.
   Graveside services for Mr. Greene were conducted in Garden Hills Cemetery, 
Opelika, at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning, Dec. 8.  Fredericks Funeral Home in 
charge of arrangements.
