Lineville Headlight
The sad news reached us Saturday that John Lewis Gregg was found dead near his 
home at Wadley last Thursday. He had gone out to cut cross ties and when he 
failed to come at night a search was started by his family and found him near his 
place of work. From the surroundings he sat down by a tree to rest when suddenly 
death, came. His hat was hanging on a limb near him. The deceased was a mason, 
member of the Christian church and a Sunday School man and was President of the 
Randolph Sunday School Association.

Additional Comments:
He was born Mar 4, 1868, he died Jan 18, 1923. He was the son of Mason M. Gregg & 
Piana Cofield. He is buried in the Wadley City Cemetery Randolph County AL.
