OBITUARIES:

Arne James Grinaker

   (ST. PETERSBURG, FLA.) Funeral services for Dr. Arne James Grinaker, age 57, 
of 4347 44th Street South, St. Petersburg, Fla., were held Wednesday, Oct. 19, 
1988, at 11 a.m. from Kenfield-Woodlawn Funeral Home in St. Petersburg, with 
Dr. Norman Groves and John D. Carr as the officiants. Interment was in Royal 
Palm Cemetery.
   Dr. Grinaker died Saturday, October 15, at Bay Front Medical Center, St. 
Petersburg, of a massive heart attack.
   A native of Roanoke, Ala., he moved with his family to St. Petersburg in 
1936.  In preparation for his medical career, he attended Duke University on a 
basketball scholarship, completing his pre-med studies there in 1953.  He took 
advanced courses at the University of Florida in Gainesville, graduated from 
the University of Miami Medical School in 1958, interned at Jackson Memorial 
Hospital in Jacksonville, and in 1962 established in St. Petersburg his 
practice in internal medicine and cardiology.  In addition, Dr. Grinaker served 
for many years as volunteer medical director of a children's camp in the 
Bahamas.
   Survivors in Dr. Grinaker's immediate family, all of whom reside in St. 
Petersburg, are his wife Patricia, sons Christian Lee and Arne Lee, mother 
Winnie Huckeba Grinaker, and sister Margaret Penuel.  Many nieces and nephews 
also survive.
   Arrangements were by Kenfield-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
   The family requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the 
American Diabetes Association.
