Funeral services were conducted today at Green's chapel for Vineyard Gross age 
16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Gross of Hobson community, who was killed suddenly 
Saturday afternoon when a gun carried by his school mate Enoch Haynes 
accidentally discharged while they were on a hunting trip. The accident occurred 
about ten miles north of here. The two, both members of the Randolph County High 
football team, had stopped for a rest and were arising, to continue the hunt, 
when the gun in Haynes hand accidentally fired, the charge striking Gross in the 
abdomen. Interment was in the Green's Chapel cemetery.
