He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Oris Kirby Gross; two sons, Maj. Melvin Gross of Kansas City, Mo., and Bill Gross of Anniston; one daughter, Mrs. Molly Raisanen of Anniston; six grandchildren, his mother, Mrs. Molly Gross of Roanoke, Rt. 3; five brothers, Bob of Demopolis, Ellison of Wedowee, Rt. 1, Charlie ray of Woodland, Vinson of West Point, Ga. and Mearl of Roanoke, Rt. 3; five sisters, Mrs. Bertha Yarbrough of Woodland, Mrs. Mattie Lee Richards of Birmingham, Mrs. Gwen Hicks of Athens, Mrs. Earl Bishop of Fairfield, and Mrs. Molly John Burns of Wedowee. Funeral services will be held today at 4 p.m., at Rocky Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Hal Jacks officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with Quattlebaum Brown-Service Funeral Home in charge. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The body will lie in state at the church for an hour before services. Mr. Gross was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church, a farmer and a lifelong resident of Randolph County.
