PATE, fell from a truck one mile west of town while returning home from school, and was so badly crushed by a wheel running over his head and chest that he died an hour or so after being rushed to the hospital, never regaining consciousness. He was sitting in the front of the truck and when it was slowed down to pass another vehicle he slipped out of his seat. He was a bright and popular lad and was in the sixth grade. Funeral and interment were at High Pine church Thursday afternoon. The grammar school grades were dismissed ahead of time for the funeral, and representatives from the faculty and student body attended. Universal sympathy is felt for those so sorely bereaved.
