HOLLEY ---------------------------- Friday [8 Dec 1911] afternoon at 3 o’clock the dread reaper angel thrust his sickle into one of our [Rock Mills] homes and cut down George. W. HOLLEY in the prime of his life. He was in the bloom of health only five short weeks ago. George was 36 years of age, a member of the Methodist church, was a good citizen and was chancellor commander in the Pythian ranks. His body was born from the home Sunday afternoon by a large number of the fraternity to the church, where funeral services were conducted by Revs. S. L. DOBBS, G. M. BYNUM and W. J. LAYTON, after which the remains were followed to the cemetery, where they were laid to rest with the K. of P. ceremony. The deceased leaves a wife and five children, a mother, one brother and five sisters. To each of them we extend our heartfelt sympathy. Mrs. Mattie ALLISON, now from Pickton, [Hopkins county] Texas, arrived Saturday in time to attend the funeral of her brother, G. W. HOLLEY. C. W. HOLLEY [a brother?], Mr. and Mrs. Jno. HARRINGTON [a sister?] and Mrs. Shine SMITH [a sister?] returned to Atlanta Sunday afternoon.
