B. & C, railroad near the water tank. The Victim was struck on the head by an iron rod in the hand of the slayer, dying almost instantly. Taylor left the scene at once, but later returned and was placed under arrest by the chief of police. He admitted the killing but said that he did not think he had struck hard enough to kill. It is said that whisky played a part in the tragedy. The slayer was placed in the city jail and later transferred to the county bastille.
