Anniston Star
Services for Mrs. Lexie Kerr Harvel, 82, of Wedowee, Rt. 2, were Saturday at 
Levens Baptist Church with the Rev. W.C. Nobley officiating. Burial was in the 
adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge. Mrs. Harvel 
died Friday at Anniston Nursing Home. Survivors include two brothers, Joe Kerr of 
Wedowee and Morgan Kerr of Anniston; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Ola Kelly of 
Wedowee, Mrs. Lela Lipham of Henegar, Mrs. Lucy Miles of Standing Rock and Mrs. 
Nina Miles of LaGrange, Ga.; three stepsons, Ceph Harvel of Wedowee, J.D. Harvel 
of LaGrange and Pierce Harvel of Albuquerque, N.M. Mrs. Harvel was a lifelong 
resident of Randolph County and a homemaker. She was a member of Union Baptist 
Church.
