OBITUARIES:

Mrs. Frankie H. Heard

   (Woodland)  Mrs. Frankie Hendon Heard, age 90, of Woodland, passed away at 
her home Monday afternoon, March 21, at five o'clock.
   Mrs. Heard is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Jeff Traylor of Woodland; two 
brothers, John C. and William H. Mitchum of Roanoke; two grandchildren and two 
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services for Mrs. Heard were conducted at four o'clock Tuesday 
afternoon from Quattlebaum's Chapel by the Rev. Tom Patterson, and burial was 
in Cedarwood Cemetery.
   Quattlebaum's Brown Service Funeral Home directed.

[Frankie Viola, the daughter of ?? Hendon and Matilda Catherine Whitlock was 
born Dec 14 1875.  She was preceded in death by her husband, George Washington 
Heard, Jr. in 1940.]
