Mrs. Heard was a resident of Oxford, a former resident of Randolph County, a homemaker, a Gold Star Mother, and a member of the Pine Tucky Baptist Church at Micaville. Mrs. Heard is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Myrtis H. Bates of Woodland, Mrs. Daisy H. Eason of Wedowee, Mrs. Imogene H. Owens of Oxford, and Mrs. Ruby H. Daniel of Florence; four sons, James Arthur Heard of Woodland, George Heard and Albert Heard of Oxford, and Charles Heard of Decatur, one sister, Mrs. Ella Buchhannon of Delta, 31 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild. Funeral services for Mrs. Heard were at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29 at Midway United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lewis Denson officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers for Mrs. Heard were Robert Eason Jr., Marshal Bates, James Robert Heard, Bud Heard, Oliver Heard, Donald Heard, and Chip Daniel.
