James Eddie Hendon 55, 808 Callaway Ave died Thursday at his resident after an 
unexpected illness. Mr. Hendon was born in Randolph County Ala Dec 1, 1908. He 
was a stepson of Mrs. Ethel Hendon Roanoke Ala. He had lived here a year and was 
a textile worker. Funeral will be at 3 pm today at Springville Church in Randolph 
County with the Rev Lindsey Mitchell pastor High Pine Baptist Church officiating. 
Burial will be in the Springfield Baptist Church cemetery. He was a member of the 
Rock Stand Christian Church in Randolph County was a Mason and a veteran of World 
War II. Other survivors include a daughter Miss Cheryl Hendon Roanoke a sister 
Mrs. Winnie Mae Jones LaGrange a brother Willie Hendon LaGrange.
