Maley Herren. 52, Graham. Rt. 2, died in a Bowdon Ga. hospital Dec. 10 from head 
injuries received in an automobile wreck near Wedowee Dec. 2, the State Highway 
Patrol reported only this morning. Patrolman Roy McDowell said the one-car 
collision took place on Butler's Gin Road and investigation has been ongoing 
since. He said a car driven by J. B. Cunningham went out of control and 
overturned several times on the highway. John Barker, who owned the auto, was 
also a passenger at the time of the accident.

Roanoke Leader:
Maley Monroe Herren, 52 years of age, passed away at 5:30 p. m. on Friday, Dec. 
10, in a Bowdon. Ga., hospital, after a two-week stay there. His home was on 
Route 2, Graham. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nellie Holcombe Herren; his 
mother, Mrs. Ada Herren of Graham: three brothers, Grover Herren of Newell and 
Wade and Robert Herren of Graham; and a sister, Mrs. C. R. Gross of Graham. 
Funeral services for Mr. Herren were held at 2 p. m. on Saturday from the 
Harmony Methodist Church, with Rev. D. M. Noles, Rev. J. B. Lewis, Rev. Ralph 
Easstep officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery, Quattlebaum's Funeral 
Home in charge.
