March 13, 1935:
Al Walker, Negro, was in county jail Monday awaiting the arrival of Randolph 
County authorities following his arrest on a two-year-old murder charge Saturday 
afternoon. The Negro was arrested by Deputy Sheriff John J. Bryant at a bicycle 
shop where he had been employed on Battle Street. He admitted killing Jesse 
Hicks, Negro, in Wadley two years ago, officers said Walker will be held in the 
county jail here until the officers from Wedowee come to take him there.
