Before his retirement, Mr. Higgins had taught for 35 years in Randolph County schools, serving as principal of Woodland Elementary School, Mount Olive Community School, and Rocky Mount School. He was a graduate of Alabama State University. [Part of survivers left out of obituary] Anniston; and two brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law. Funeral services for Mr. Higgins were held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon at Friendship Baptist Church, Wadley, where he was a deacon. The Rev. R.L. Heflin, pastor, officiated, and interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were deacons of Friendship Western Union District and Masons of the Montgomery Pride Lodge.
