Roanoke Leader
County court convened Monday with a heavy docket. The negroes connected with the 
shooting affray which occurred in the Concord community on last Friday had their 
preliminary trial. Arthur Patillo, who is charged with the murder of another 
negro, John Higgins, had his bond set at $1250, and Oliver Ford, charged with 
assault with intent to murder, is under a $500 bond.
