He was living alone; was as well as usual the day before. Mr. Hightower lived just over the line in Randolph County, on the old McIntosh road, that was cut by Gen. Jackson. Mr. H., we learn, was nearly one hundred years old. He was the first Sheriff of Randolph County, and a soldier of the war of 1812.
