 MR. S. J. HOLDER DEAD.

          After a long illness Mr. S. J.
         Holder died at 9 o’clock this morn-
         ing at the home of his father; W.
         M. Holder, in Roanoke. He was
         an excellent christian gentleman,
         and was tax assessor-elect of Ran-
         dolph county. He leaves a wife
         and three children, parents, broth
         ers and sisters, who have many
         sympathizing friends throughout
         the county. The interment will be
         at  Lebanon tomorrow.

Additional Comments:
This obituary was OCRed from a clipping that was found in the house of an elder
relative.  Mr Holder attended the same church as my ancestors and was apparently
a close family friend.  The obituary included a picture of Mr Holder and I can
email a jpg image of it to anyone wanting a copy.
