E. E. Hollis, 59, of Harris County, living on Pine Mountain, died Thursday morning, 2 o'clock, as a result of a shotgun wound through his heart, supposedly self-inflicted, and brought about through ill health. Mr. Hollis had formerly served the rural Baptist churches, near Wedowee. Interment will be in the cemetery at Wedowee, Friday, with Johnson and Blakely in charge. Dr. R. P. Morrow stated that he was summoned to the Hollis home early Thursday morning, and upon his arrival there was notified that death had come as a result of suicide. The Harris County registrar stated that he thought an inquest by the coroner would be unnecessary. Mr. Hollis had been in ill health for the past five years; however, he seemed as. well as usual, Wednesday night. His family was not awakened by the firing of the shotgun. The load, according to the undertaker, went through the body. The gun and fire poker were lying beside the body of the dead man. It is supposed that he placed the barrel against his heart and used the poker to pull the trigger. Surviving are the widow and ten children: Aubrey Hollis, Atlanta; Charlie Hollis, Roanoke; Dave, Moses, and Jack Hollis, West Point, R. F. D. No. 3; Mrs. Otis Styres, Bowden, Ga.; Mrs. Horace Gladden and Mrs. Albert Sessions. Tallapoosa. Ga.; Misses Adell and Gena Hollis, Lanett.
