OBITUARIES:

Lena Higgins Howell

   (ROANOKE) Mrs. Lena Higgins Howell, age 87, of Roanoke, died on Tuesday, 
July 9, 1985, in Randolph County Hospital, Roanoke.
   A native of Chambers County, she was a member of Rehope Baptist Church, 
LaFayette, and of Lily White Chapter No. 352, Order of the Eastern Star.
   Mrs. Howell is survived by her husband, Fonzie Howell of Roanoke; four 
daughters, Mrs. Rosie Ethel Gunn of Five Points, Mrs. Repsie Dunson and Mrs. 
Minnie Goodson, both of Dayton, Ohio, and Ms. Emma Howell of Roanoke; one 
sister, Mrs. Minnie Smith of Lanett; and 13 grandchildren and several great-
grandchildren.
   Funeral services were conducted at three o’clock Sunday afternoon, July 14, 
at Rehope Baptist Church, the pastor, the Rev. H. L. Jones, officiating, with 
interment in the church cemetery.
   Grandsons served as pallbearers, and Eastern Star members were flower 
attendants.
   Clark Funeral Service of Roanoke was in charge of arrangements.
