Anniston Star
Byrd Huckeba 78, of Franklin, Ga., Rt. 1, was found dead in bed at the residence 
Friday after a week's illness. Services were held at 2 p.m. today from Potash 
Church in Randolph County with the Revs. Herman Caldwell and Guy Rogers 
officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Ledford-Stutts Funeral 
Home in Franklin in charge. Survivors include his wife Alice Huckaba of 
Franklin, Rt. S; three daughters, Mrs. Willie McKee of Wedowee. Rt 2. Mrs. Addie 
V. Hendrix of Fort Pierce, and Mrs. Lillian Bledsoe of LaGrange, Ga.; two 
brothers Homer Huckaba of Franklin Ga. Rt. 5 and Roma Huckeba of Rootville, Ga 
Rt. 1; a sister, Mrs. Viney Whitley of LaGrange; four half-brothers Dal, Henry, 
Aubrey and Bee Huckeba; 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. A retired 
farmer and black smith, Mr. Huckeba had been blind for about four years at the 
time of his death.
