E. Hurst, 46, of 111 Hall Street, Oxford, were held Monday morning from Christiana Baptist Church by the Revs. Louis Bowman and Pembleton Bean. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery, Usrey in charge. A carpenter, Mr. Hurst was killed Saturday morning in a hunting accident in Randolph County. He was a native of Clay County but had lived in Oxford for two years. He was employed with a local construction company. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Martha Hurst, two sons, Harvey Joe and Rodney; two daughters, Paula Sue and Juanita, all of Oxford; four brothers, Andrew, Dewey and Robert Hurst, all of Clay County; Carb Hurst of Alexandria, and two sisters, Mrs. Fanny Patterson and Mrs. Della Parker, both of Clay County. Pallbearers were Luther Hambric, Olin J. Hurst, Jordan B. Hurst, Arnold Hodnett, Lynwood Haynie and F. L. Bean. Additional Comments: Note: Mr. Hurst was hunting with his brother-in-law Vasser Maddox. One of them was climbing over a pasture fence on the Jep Ayres place, when he caught his gun in the fence and accidentally fired his rifle.
