Mrs. Hoodie Johnson 57 wife of J.M. Johnson succumbed to a lingering illness at 
7:10 p m Monday at her home on the Okeechobee Road five miles west of Fort 
Pierce. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a m Thursday from the Fee 
Mortuary company’s Chapel with the Rev. W.C. Fountain pastor of Hendry Memorial 
Methodist church officiating. The body will be forwarded Friday morning to 
Dothan Ala for interment. The deceased is survived by three sons Floyd, Lloyd 
and Rudolph Johnson all of this community two daughters Mrs. Eva Bell Hilliard 
this place with whom she made her home, and Mrs. Bessie Willingham Lake Wales, 
also by a number of other relatives in Alabama and elsewhere She had been a 
resident of this county for the past 11 years having come here with Mr. Johnson 
from Roanoke Ala just outside of Dothan. Names of the pallbearers will be 
announced Wednesday.
