Johnson about 65 years of age resident of this community for many years shot and killed himself Tuesday morning at his home on Okeechobee Road. The act was attributed to despondency over the death some time ago of his wife. Using a 410-guage shotgun. Johnson shot himself through mouth and died instantly lived alone but the report of the gun was heard by a neighbor and the tragedy soon discovered. County officials said no inquest would be held not being deemed necessary. The body is to be forwarded by the Fee Mortuary Co Wednesday noon to Roanoke Ala former home of the deceased for funeral services and interment No services will be held here. The deceased is survived by several sons and daughters including Floyd and Lloyd Johnson and Mrs. Shack Hilliard of this place Mrs. Otis R. Parker sister.
