OBITUARIES:

Bobby E. Johnston

   (CARROLLTON) Bobby E. Johnston, 59, 40 Twin Oaks Drive, Carrollton, Ga., 
died Monday, May 11, 1987, at Tanner Medical Center, Carrollton, following a 
brief illness.
   Mr. Johnston was born in Randolph County, Ala., son of the late Orion J. 
Johnston and Pearly Edwards Johnston of Bowdon, Ga.  He was a veteran of the 
U.S. Army and a house painter.
   In addition to his wife, the former Opal Smith Simmons, and his mother, 
survivors include one son, Steve Johnston of Fitzgerald, Ga.; three daughters, 
Glenda Mobley, Regina Dickens, and Joni Horton, all of Fitzgerald; two 
brothers, Jerry Johnston of Bowdon, and Ray Johnston of Arlington, Tex.; five 
sisters, Mickey Bateman of Austell, Ga., Dess Russell of Stone Mountain, Ga., 
Joanne Toole of Decatur, Ga., Mary Terrell of Marietta, Ga., and Janice Kemp of 
New Orleans, La.; and five grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
   In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, John 
Johnston.
   Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, May 13, from Antioch Baptist 
Church, Newell, Ala., with the Rev. Golden Cofield and the Rev. Buddy Gentry 
officiating.  Interment was in the church cemetery.
   Pallbearers were Jack Shelton, Lawrence Edwards, Billy Edwards, Jesse 
Shelton, Bobby Phillips, Fred Thomas, and Garland Loveless.
   West Funeral Home of Bowdon was in charge of arrangements.
