Roanoke Leader
Pete Brown, colored, was arrested Monday night by Constable J. V. Benefield and 
was turned over to Sheriff Gladstone Kirby on Tuesday morning for detention in 
the county jail. Brown is charged with the slaying of Bobby (Bubber) Jones, 
colored, in Roanoke last Saturday night. The fatal shooting is said to have 
followed a crap game in which the two had been engaged earlier in the night.

Additional Comments:
Brown was sent to prison for the murder of Jones.
