B. WEATHERS last Thursday night [27 May 1926] death claimed its third victim within a little more than a year in a family that has been prominent in the affairs of this county for more than a generation. A brother, J. L. WEATHERS, died here just two months ago and another brother, former Judge A. J. WEATHERS, died at Wedowee in March of last year. This family has a remarkable record for longevity. Among the twelve children, nine boys and three girls, there was not a death for 73 years. J. B. Weathers was seventy years old and all his life was spent in Randolph county until his removal a few years ago to South Alabama. For the last two or three years he had made his home in Montgomery. He was buried there Saturday with Masonic honors. While living in this county he served six years as clerk of the circuit court. He is survived by his widow, six daughters and one son, all of whom are married except one daughter. Two brothers, Gen. B. F. WEATHERS, of Roanoke, Mr. J. A. WEATHERS, of Wedowee, and a sister, Mrs. [Sarah] GLADNEY, of Lineville, also survive him. From Roanoke W. F. USSERY, R. M. USSERY, wife and daughter attended the funeral services.
