BIRDSONG died at his home, three miles north of Roanoke, on Friday night last [14/15 Jan 1898]. He was buried at the cemetery near his home on Saturday at 2:30 P. M. Rev. E. B. NORTON conducted the funeral service, assisted by Revs. J. W. TUCKER and G. T. HARRIS. Mr. BIRDSONG was a well known and prominent citizen, whose loss will be keenly felt and sincerely regretted.
