A. Key Sunday Johnsons Crow Roads, Jan. 25. Death came suddenly early Sunday morning and claimed the life of Mr. W. A. Key, a prominent citizen of this community. Mr. Key was widely known. He came to Chambers County 52 years ago. He and his first, wife Mrs. Emma Carter Key, came here from Roopville, Georgia. Mrs. Key died May 6, 1904. Later he married Miss Julia Slagle. Deceased was born at Roopville nearly 79 years ago. He had been a member of the Baptist church for 92 years, at his death being a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist church, Chambers County. Funeral services were conducted Monday morning at 10 o'clock at Concord church, 9 miles west of Roanoke, by Revs. H. E. Rice and R. E. Owens, of LaGrange. Mr. Key leaves to mourn his death his wife, a brother, R. L. Key, of Clem, Ga., two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Lands and Miss Mollie T. Key, of Bowdon, Ga., and a host of other relatives and friends. This good man will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
