John Thomas Key age 69 Wedowee Rt 1, passed away at Wedowee Hospital at 10:45 
Tuesday morning. Nov. 17. Mr. Key is survived by his wife; 5 sons. Shelly, 
Virgil, and Clarence Key all of Wedowee, Raymond Key of Roanoke, and Eardis Key 
of Oxford: 4 daughters, Mrs. Thelma Kitchens and Mrs. Ethel Ogles of Newell and 
Mrs. Myrtle Pott us j and Mrs. Betty Bean of Wedowee, 4 brothers, Hubert Key of 
Heflin and Huey, Worley, and Homer Key, all of Atlanta; 5 sisters, Mrs. Lewis 
Cavender of Smithville, Miss. Mrs. Esta Stephens, Mrs. Dessie Waites, and Mrs. 
Bertie Brooks, all of Heflin, and Mrs. Cordie Ogles of Newell; 22 grandchildren 
and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Key will be conducted 
Thursday afternoon at two o'clock from the Union Hill Methodist Church by Rev. 
Billy Howell. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Quattlebaum's Brown 
Service Funeral Home in charge of funeral arrangements. Mr. Key is in state at 
his home.
