OBITUARIES:

Elton Kirby

   (Roanoke) Elton Kirby, age 87, of Rt. 3 Roanoke, died Friday, July 19, 1985, 
in Traylor Nursing Home, Roanoke.
   Mr. Kirby is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lavara Kirby; one daughter, Mrs. Sue 
Dell Tennant of Rt. 2 Wedowee; two sons, T. V. Kirby of Rt. 3 Roanoke and 
Oliver Kirby of LaGrange, GA; and seven grandchildren and eight great-
grandchildren.
   Funeral services for Mr. Kirby were conducted at two o'clock Saturday 
afternoon from White's Chapel United Methodist Church, the Rev. Robert Mount 
and the Rev. Wallace Roberts officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.
   Pallbearers were Bob Kirby, Frank Kirby, Bill Tennant, Terry Davidson, Bill 
Kirby, and Johnny Tennant.
   Quattlebaum's Brown-Service Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
