Mrs. Kirby was a native and lifelong resident of Randolph County, a homemaker and a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church. Mrs. Kirby is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Dora Elswick of Marietta, Ga., Mrs. Othell Draper of Roanoke, Mrs. Willardean Martin of Acworth, Ga.; one son, Dewey Kirby of Huguley; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Garfield Kirby and Mrs. Clarence Young, both of Roanoke; and three brothers, Leon Spears and Grady Spears, both of Roanoke, and Jewell Spears of Barnesville, Ga. Funeral services for Mrs. Kirby were at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 at Welcome Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Vernon Willis and the Rev. J. D. Bearden officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery. Pallbearers for Mrs. Kirby were Calvin Kirby, Rickey Kirby, Jimmy Spears, Virgil Spears, Wesley Spears and Jeff Kirby. Benefield Brown Service Approved Funeral Home of Wedowee was in charge of the arrangements. ___________ Additional Comments: [Gladis Mae is the daughter of Benjamin Cicero Spears and Nancy Lucy Hester.
