Mr. Kirby was a native of Randolph County and lived a part of his lifetime in Rockford, Illinois. He moved back to Randolph County 11 years ago. He was retired as a maintenance man for a vacuum cleaner manufacturing company in Illinois. Mr. Kirby is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gertie Mae Kirby of Woodland; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Mae Kirby Akins and Mrs. Nancy Beryl Kirby Foster, both of Lanett; two sons, James E. Kirby of Five Points and Harry C. Kirby of Ashland, Missouri; one sister, Mrs. Mary Nell Holloway of Woodland; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Kirby were at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22 at Rocky Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Godbee and Rev. Loyd Amason officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
