OBITUARIES:

JAMES KIRBY
   
   (Woodland) James Kirby, age 76, of Route 2, Woodland died Thursday, Nov. 20, 
1986 at Randolph County Hospital, Roanoke, after a short illness.
   Mr. Kirby was a native of Randolph County and lived a part of his lifetime 
in Rockford, Illinois.  He moved back to Randolph County 11 years ago.  He was 
retired as a maintenance man for a vacuum cleaner manufacturing company in 
Illinois.
   Mr. Kirby is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gertie Mae Kirby of Woodland; two 
daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Mae Kirby Akins and Mrs. Nancy Beryl Kirby Foster, both 
of Lanett; two sons, James E. Kirby of Five Points and Harry C. Kirby of 
Ashland, Missouri; one sister, Mrs. Mary Nell Holloway of Woodland; 20 
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
   Funeral services for Mr. Kirby were at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22 at Rocky 
Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Godbee and Rev. Loyd Amason officiating.
   Burial was in the church cemetery.
   Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee was in charge of the arrangements.
