OBITUARIES:

JOHN BLAINE KIRBY

   (Woodland) John Blaine Kirby, age 47, of Route 2 Woodland, died suddenly 
Friday, October 19, 1984, at Randolph County Hospital in Roanoke.
   Mr. Kirby was a lifelong resident of Randolph County, a machinist at Amoco 
in Roanoke, and a Methodist by faith.
   He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ann S. Kirby of Woodland; two daughters, 
Cynthia Ann Smith of Ranburne and Paula Lynn Kirby of Woodland; two sons, 
Jonathan Wayne Kirby of Tuscaloosa and Richard Brantley Kirby of Woodland; his 
parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. J. Kirby of Woodland; two sisters, Janis Bowen of 
Roanoke and June Kirby of Opelika; and one brother, Jay Kirby of Douglas, Ga.
   Funeral services for Mr. Kirby were held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon 
at Highway Congregational Methodist Church, with the Rev. Vernon E. Willis 
officiating.  Burial in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Drenon Farmer, Hansel Holloway, Paul Caldwell, W. C. Cofield, 
David White, Bobby Perry, Harold Hall, and Steve Wilkins.
   Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee was in charge of arrangements.
