Anniston Star
An 84-year-old Roanoke mother, who recently celebrated her 63rd wedding 
anniversary, died yesterday at her home after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Nancy 
Elizabeth Kirby. a native of Randolph County where she died, is survived by her 
husband, eight children, 47 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and a great-
great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p. m. at the 
Lebanon Christian Church by the Rev. Frank Timmerman. Burial will be in the 
church cemetery, Quattlebaum's Funeral Home directing. Survivors include her 
husband, William T. (Bud) Kirby; two sons, Charlie Kirby. Wedowee, and Ross 
Kirby, of Talladega: six daughters, Mrs. Homer French and Mrs. E. L. Gross, of 
Wedowee; Mrs. H. F. Beverly, of Talladega; Mrs. W. S. Camp, of Roanoke; Mrs. 
Alex Stevens, Monroeville, and Mrs. O. B. Ernest, of Omaha; 47 grandchildren. 37 
great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; a brother, Washe Traylor, of 
LaGrange, Ga. and a sister, Mrs. Warner Camp, of Wedowee. Grandsons will serve 
as pallbearers.
